Promoting Student Understanding through Virtual Manipulatives
Virtual manipulatives (VMs) appeal to teachers due to their affordances that promote student understanding and engagement. This article describes VMs, collections of VMs and activities, and highlights how one VM activity can promote students' development of conceptual understanding.
