Die Versatzstücke der gemeinsamen Geschichte von Arabern und Juden mit dem Nationalsozialismus werden zudem heute auf beiden Seiten massiv im politischen Konflikt instrumentalisiert. 
520 |a Im vorliegenden Band äußert sich ein Kreis von Fachleuten in insgesamt zehn Beiträgen erstmals umfassend zur Begegnung der arabischen Welt mit dem Nationalsozialismus. Dazu zählen auch die vergessenen Geschichten nordafrikanischer Kolonialsoldaten, die im Kampf gegen Nazideutschland als "Kanonenfutter" dienten, die zum Teil kritischen arabischen Bewertungen des Nationalsozialismus oder die Schicksale von Arabern und Muslimen, die in deutschen Konzentrations- und Kriegsgefangenenlagern ums Leben gekommen sind.
