Die Beiträge des Bandes thematisieren die Traditionen, Funktionen und Bedeutungen kommemorativer Praktiken. Diskutiert werden nicht zuletzt aktuelle Konfliktkonstellationen, die sich aus Erinnerungskonkurrenzen verschiedener nationaler, sozialer und politischer Gruppen ergeben.
