Zusammenfassung:Abstract The background spectra of a 20 $ cm^{3} $ Ge(Li) detector were studied in common laboratory rooms, in the open air and in a limestone low background chamber. The general level of background (i.e. background counting rates at different energy regions) obtained under different conditions were compared to each other and to similar measurments by a NaJ (Tl) detector under the same conditions as well as to Ge(Li) background measurements at another laboratory (in Italy). Open air measurements are of importance from the point of view of environmental research. The peaks in the spectrum and the radionuclides, which we found to be present in the air and the soil on the basis of the analysis of the spectrum were compared with a corresponding American study.
