|a Die vorliegende Studie fragt nach dem Seinsstatus von literarisch vorgestellten Emotionen. Einerseits wird die literaturwissenschaftliche Skepsis gegenüber Versuchen und Versuchungen, solche ›Emotionen‹ mit realen Emotionen gleichzusetzen und entsprechend auszuwerten, geteilt. Andererseits ist nicht zu übersehen, dass es zahlreiche Autoren mit ihren Emotionsdarstellungen nicht nur auf die emotionale Affiziertheit der Rezipienten abgesehen haben, sondern diese sogar dazu animieren, ihre eigenen emotionalen Emotionen mit denen der Protagonisten kurzzuschließen. Infolge dieses Zusammenspiels von Text und Rezipient kommt es zur – vom Autor intendierten – Korrespondenz von fiktionaler und realer Emotion hinsichtlich ihres Seinsstatus.

|a The study looks into the nature of emotions as they are portrayed and imagined in literature. On the one hand, there is shared skepticism towards attempts and temptations to equate such ›emotions‹ with real emotions and analyze them accordingly. On the other hand, it can't be overlooked that, beyond striving for an emotional reaction on the part of the reader, the aim of many authors is to encourage readers to merge their own emotions with those of the protagonists. As a result of this interplay between text and recipient, there is an (intentional) correspondence between fictional and real emotions.
