Normative Modernebegriffe in Literatur und Literaturwissenschaft

Abstract The article comments on the call to keep the concept of modernity - as it relates to literary studies - free from its normative implications. With recourse to elementary hermeneutic insights, the author shows that this is neither possible nor advisable.
