Keywords: 'Halberstadt Lament of the Virgin Mary' - 'Gustav Schmidt Document Collection' - Scientific Library of the Lomonosov Moscow State University - medieval German literature - early music Vorb emerkungen Die heute in der Moskauer Universitätsbibliothek aufbewahrte 'Halberstädter Marienklage' ('Dokumentensammlung Gustav Schmidt', Fonds 40, Verzeichnis 1, Nr. 46) wurde von Gustav Schmidt neben anderen Hss. im Halberstädter Domgymnasium entdeckt und 1881 publiziert.2 Das Nachkriegsschicksal der von Schmidt gesammelten Handschriften- und Wiegendruckfragmente, die ab 1997 in Moskau von Catherine squires und Natalija ganina als 'Dokumentensammlung Gustav Schmidt' beschrieben und erforscht wurden,3 verursachte einen gewissen Stillstand in der Erforschung der 'Halberstädter Marienklage' nach 1945.
