La perception de l’occupation d’Arbel et le logos tant français qu’allemand montrent que la guerre pénètre en profondeur les discours, les pratiques et les représentations des sociétés.

From the very start and during the whole of the war, the Arbel Company suffered depredations. In keeping with the logic of total war, the resources of the occupied territories were systematically seized. The way in which the occupation of Arbel was perceived and the discourse surrounding it, from both the French and German sides, show that the war was a pervasive and profound presence that shaped the views, the language, the practices and the representations of French society.
