|a The content of pronunciation teaching is increasingly based on solid research and pragmatic goals, and the aim for many teachers today is no longer to modify their students’ accents to achieve perfect Received Pronunciation/Standard British English (RP/SBE) or General American (GA), but the more pragmatic goal of intelligibility. The many constraints often associated with learning languages in French universities encourage stakeholders to seek innovative solutions, and online learning is often viewed as a solution. This paper will present a pilot study being carried out at Grenoble Alpes University which seeks to measure the progress of students using an online learning path targeting pronunciation and listening skills. The learning path is one of several created with an Initiative d’excellence, a French government scheme which awards grants for innovative pedagogical projects (IDEX) grant, and which can be used by specialist English students and non-specialists alike. The course integrates short subtitled videos and interactive activities, and is based on an articulatory approach to learning pronunciation which puts prosody front and centre. More specifically, this article will explore the problems of learning pronunciation, especially for French speakers, before presenting our pedagogical approach and the technological solutions we propose.

|a Le contenu de l'enseignement de la prononciation s'appuie de plus en plus sur des recherches solides et sur des objectifs pragmatiques, et l'objectif de nombreux enseignants aujourd'hui n'est plus de modifier l'accent de leurs élèves pour atteindre un RP/SBE ou un GA parfait, mais d’atteindre le but plus pragmatique de l'intelligibilité. Les nombreuses contraintes souvent associées à l'apprentissage des langues dans les universités françaises incitent les acteurs à chercher des solutions innovantes, et l'apprentissage en ligne est souvent considéré comme une solution. Cette communication présentera une étude pilote menée à l'Université Grenoble-Alpes qui vise à mesurer les progrès d'étudiants utilisant un parcours d'apprentissage en ligne qui propose un travail sur la prononciation et sur la compréhension de l’oral. Ce parcours est l'un des parcours créés grâce à une subvention de l'Idex, et qui peut être utilisé aussi bien par des étudiants spécialisés en anglais que par des non-spécialistes. Il intègre de courtes vidéos sous-titrées et des activités interactives, et se fonde sur une approche articulatoire de l'apprentissage de la prononciation qui met la prosodie au premier plan. Plus spécifiquement, cet article explorera les problèmes d'apprentissage de la prononciation, notamment pour les francophones, avant de présenter notre approche pédagogique et les solutions technologiques que nous proposons.
