The crystallographic information file (CIF) language extension makes syntax highlighting, auto completion, error checking and hover information available for crystallographers reading and editing CIFs. The language extension features are available for all files following the CIF syntax, including CIF dictionary files. The design and features of the VS Code CIF extension are presented
