Self-Accommodating Honeycomb Networks from Supramolecular Self-Assembly of s-Indacene-tetrone on Silver Surfaces

We describe the self-assembly of s-indacene-tetrone on Ag(111), Ag(100), and Ag(110) surfaces and the formation of three hydrogen-bonded supramolecular phases representing a complex self-accommodating honeycomb network. The differences in terms of relative host-guest stability and molecular density...

Zusammenfassung:We describe the self-assembly of s-indacene-tetrone on Ag(111), Ag(100), and Ag(110) surfaces and the formation of three hydrogen-bonded supramolecular phases representing a complex self-accommodating honeycomb network. The differences in terms of relative host-guest stability and molecular density are analyzed and discussed. Different epitaxial behaviors of the two-dimensional self-assembly are found as a response to the variations in the crystallographic orientation of the surface
