|a Imperfect transmission of block-coded images often results in lost blocks. A novel error concealment method called best neighborhood matching (BNM) is presented by using a special kind of information redundancy-blockwise similarity within the image. The proposed algorithm can utilize the information of not only neighboring pixels, but also remote regions in the image. Very good restoration results are obtained by experiments
