Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) images exhibited a tubular structure of the obtained samples. The wall thickness of the nanotubes is well controlled by varying the assembled cycle number, which is detected by UV-visible spectroscopy. Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy confirmed the formation of covalent bonds between PEI and PTCDA in nanotubes
