To that end, this paper reviews the past year of progress and lessons learned in HOLON for integrating the Web, HL7, CORBA, Arden, KQML, UMLS Thesaurus, and other standards to determine if object technology reduces common problems in document-centric libraries such as indexing, searching/retrieving, complex data type management, and maintenance, among others
