Description
Résumé:A 57-year-old woman visited the Mie University Hospital with the complaint of lower abdominal pain on December 2, 1987. Cystoscopic examination revealed a non-papillary tumor with a broad base in the left posterior wall. A diagnosis was made by biopsy of the bladder epithelium. Amyloid fibrils were confirmed in the biopsy specimen with polarization and electron microscopies. Symptomatic secondary amyloidosis of the bladder is very rare. To date, only 15 cases have been reported in the American and European literatures. This seems to be the first case reported in Japan
