While barriers to information-sharing remain, public policy and technology are making it easier for individuals to exercise their information rights. This article gives older adults, their families, caregivers, and legal designees advice on how to proactively access information, and offers perspectives about evolving health information privacy challenges and how older adults can guard against risks of harmful use of personal health information.
