Zusammenfassung:Ann Cvetkovich's Depression: A Public Feeling and Carol Mavor's Black and Blue: The Bruising Passion of "Camera Lucida," "La Jetée," "Sans soleil," and "Hiroshima mon amour" are beautiful books that interpose memoir with a critique of sad affects. But while Cvetkovich's book proposes a politicized understanding of depression that can itself be deployed as a form of critique, Mavor's is concerned with aesthetic renderings of that which is beyond both memory and forgetting.
