|a In recent years, an upsurge in the use of sharp weapons as a tactic in terrorist attacks has been witnessed in Indonesia. The online propaganda by the Islamic State (IS) terrorist group and its Indonesian affiliates on the urgency of using sharp weapons to kill their enemies and seek recognition from IS Central partly contribute to this trend. This article also assesses the propensity of using sharp weapons for future attacks by pro-IS elements in Indonesia.
