Social protection as part of the public services system is a sensitive subject in every country, but it's becoming really challenging in the developing countries. This paper is approaching the child social protection, which is one of the most relevant subjects nowadays. The research study is based on a particular survey developed on the topic of child social protection on national and urban level, inside the borders of Romania. The main objective of the research study, was to find out how much are the Romanian children being protected by the social services on national and urban level and how effective are they from the perspective of the child rights. The survey includes some key issues related to the child abuse and the role of the school and family during the education process. Starting from that point, some variables were defined and a representative sample was taken on the urban level. The main research methods used were a questioner and a semi-structured interview in order to get to know the current situation and the opinions of the actors involved in the child social protection services. The obtained information were briefly analysed and some main ideas were concluded in the last part of the current paper.
