Zusammenfassung:This study uses error-correction models to analyze the response of retail automotive fuel margins to changes in crude petroleum prices. The results show a large, negative contemporaneous response of retail automotive fuel margins to changes in crude petroleum prices. The negative contemporaneous response is found to hold equally in cases where crude petroleum prices are rising or falling.
