A "New" Whitfieldia (Acanthaceae) from East Africa
Whitfieldia orientalis from the eastern lowlands of Kenya and Tanzania is described and its habitat, phytogeography and taxonomic relationships discussed. The species has long been confused with W. stuhlmannii, a species from western Tanzania and Congo (Kinshasa).
