O. s. steindachneri is widespread in the eastern Pacific from California to Peru but absent from Clipperton Island where a new endemic subspecies, O. s. clippertonensis, is described. O. a. atlanticus is known from the west coast of Africa and adjacent islands to the eastern coast of Brazil. O. a. macclurei is widespread in the Caribbean Atlantic. |
