Roles of insulin resistance and beta cell dysfunction in macrosomia among Chinese women with gestational diabetes mellitus

• Insulin resistance was related to macrosomia and large for gestational age infant. • It was also related to weight gain in women with gestational diabetes mellitus. • The links were mainly due to the large effect sizes among women with BMI<24kg/m2.
