Glycemic control and use of A1c in primary care patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus

• Over half the patients showed inadequate glycemic control. • Glycemic control worsens as treatment becomes more complex. • There is no association between A1c levels and diabetes mellitus duration. • The study shows the underuse of A1c.
