Für Oberstufe, Grundstudium und Politische Bildung gibt sie einen knappen, lesbar geschriebenen Überblick von den mittelalterlichen Wurzeln bis zur Auflösung Preußens im 20. Jahrhundert. An W. Neugebauers Einführung (BA 4/04) anknüpfend versteht Wienfort Preußen in struktur- und sozialgeschichtlicher Akzentuierung als einen dynamischen Geschichtsraum im Spannungsfeld zwischen starkem Einheitsstaat und der Vielfalt der Landschaften und Regionen.
