|a Même s’il n’est pas encore officiellement question de révision (de l’intégralité) du Code de droit canonique, l’actuel « processus synodal » en référence à la 16e Assemblée générale ordinaire du Synode des évêques conduit non seulement à s’interroger sur l’ecclésiologie qui sous-tend le Livre II du Code, mais aussi, sinon surtout à en envisager la révision. Cette étude offre quelques perspectives de révision en fonction d’une ecclésiologie non plus « universaliste » mais d’une théologie du peuple de Dieu et de la communion des Églises. Une telle révision ne peut que se baser sur une réception renouvelée de l’ecclésiologie qui se dégage du concile Vatican II, sous l’impulsion du pontificat actuel. Pour mener à bien cette révision, l’auteur suggère de 1. reconsidérer les canons introductifs à la lumière de l’ecclésiologie de la communio ; 2. renforcer la communion ecclésiale au niveau régional ; 3. donner tout son poids au munus regendi des fidèles du Christ ; 4. promouvoir la collaboration ministérielle et son accountability.

|a Even if there is not yet any official question of revising the Code of Canon Law (in its entirety), the current « synodal process » in reference to the 16th Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops leads us not only to question the ecclesiology underlying Book II of the Code, but also, if not above all, to envisage its revision. This study offers some prospects for a revision based not on a « universalist » ecclesiology but on a theology of the People of God and of the communion of the Churches. Such a revision can only be based on a renewed reception of the ecclesiology that emerges from Vatican II, under the impulse of the current pontificate. To bring this revision to fruition, the author suggests 1. Reconsidering the introductory canons in the light of the ecclesiology of communio ; 2. Strengthening ecclesial communion at regional level ; 3. Giving full weight to the munus regendi of Christ’s faithful ; 4. To promote ministerial collaboration and its accountability.
