Dabei untersucht er ihre während der Sozialisation im Kaiserreich erzeugten Denkweisen und Handlungsdispositionen, ihre Deutungsmuster angesichts der Landschaften und Menschen in den Kolonien sowie die Bandbreite gouvernementaler Herrschaftspraktiken im Kontext von kolonialer Staatlichkeit - ein einzigartiger Einblick in die Elite der deutschen Kolonialverwaltung.
