Der Kampf, den Frauen seit Jahrhunderten für ihre Rechte führen, hat die Welt verändert und verändert sie täglich ein klein wenig mehr. Er war und ist immer im Zusammenhang mit entscheidenden politischen und gesellschaftlichen Umbrüchen aufgetreten, und zwar stets parallel zu der Entwicklung hin zur modernen Demokratie."
