Zusammenfassung:This article analyses the staging of the Dukes of Burgundy as (sound) bodies in the 14th and 15th centuries, with some side glances at other court cultures closely related to the Burgundian Dukes. The focus is on various forms of staging and sound practices in the context of urban entrées, courtly weddings and other court rituals in which bodily sound techniques become tangible. In this context, the ducal body is examined in both a narrower and more comprehensive sense, as well as its symbolic sound forms of expression and modes of representation. Keywords Sound; Body Practices; Ritual; Signs and Devices; Burgundy
