|a Cognitive individualism as developed by Raymond Boudon attempts to overcome the congenital limitations of rational choice models by restoring the Weberian concept of axiologic rationality, which would attest the scope and diversity of hehaviors based on reason. Focussing exclusively on the case of traffic lights at crossroads - an example frequently used by Boudon to illustrate his theory - the article presents the various logical and methodological aporias of this typology of rationalities. In the case under consideration, instrumental rationality and axiological rationality prove to be indistinguishable, to the point of casting doubt on their respective explanatory effectiveness. Mainly, the criterion of consequentialism seems unable to differentiate these two logics of action except in the speculative space to which Boudon's analyses belong. What is questioned is in fact the effectiveness of the methodological individualism approach in taking into account the sharing and obviousness of the semantic frameworks of the action considered. |a L'individualisme cognitiviste developpe par Raymond Boudon entend depasser les limites congenitales des modeles du choix rationnel en restaurant la notion weberienne de rationalite axiologique, qui temoignerait de l'etendue et de la diversite des comportements fondes en raison. S'attachant exclusivement au cas des feux de signalisation dans les carrefours routiers - exemple frequemment exploite par Boudon pour illustrer sa theorie -, l'article presente une a une les apories logiques et methodologiques dans lesquelles tombe cependant cette typologie des rationalites. Dans le cas considere, rationalite instrumentale et rationalite axiologique se revelent en effet indiscernables, au point de jeter un doute sur leur efficacite explicative respective. Principalement, le critere du consequentialisme semble inapte a distinguer ces deux logiques d'action, si ce n'est dans l'espace speculatif ou se situent les analyses de Boudon. En definitive, c'est l'efficacite du point de vue de l'individualisme methodologique a rendre compte du partage et de l'evidence des cadres semantiques de l'action qui est interrogee.
