Plusieurs réformes ont visé depuis 2008 à moderniser le Sénat et à abaisser l'âge moyen de ses membres. En étudiant de manière approfondie le profil des sénateurs français, les effets des réformes engagées et la manière dont les sénateurs perçoivent leur mandat, cette contribution tente d'éclairer les spécificités du Sénat français.
