Last fall I began taking daily doses of 1,500 mg of niacin, in addition to the 40 mg of Lipitor I've been taking for several years. Within six months, my LDL and triglycerides were down significantly and my HDL was higher. If my next bi-annual blood test shows the same types of results, should I discontinue the Lipitor and niacin?
