Instead, it is argued that the oration is a specific request that the monarch accept the ms.w-nswt's personal offer to finance the cost of Sinuhe's burial. The gesture should be seen as a token of appreciation by the king's military elites in honor of Sinuhe's distinguished advocacy of Sesostris, while the former was a refugee in Syria-Palestine.
