| Résumé: | Biographical note: Morten Axboe is an archaeologist at the National Museum ofCopenhagen, Denmark. Biographical note: Morten Axboe ist Archäologe am Nationalmuseum in Kopenhagen, Dänemark. Axboe takes up a topic which has long occupied researchers in early medieval studies, namely gold bracteates, a type of decorative pendant with amuletic function. In his book, he illustrates the stilistic development of the bracteates and locates them chronologically. In addition, Axboe discusses the gold hoards of the 6th century and lists the bracteates discovered between 1989 and 2003. This is an indispensable reference work for museologists and academic researchers. Morten Axboe greift ein Thema auf, mit dem sich die Frühmittelalterforschung seit langem beschäftigt: Goldbrakteaten, eine Art Schmuckanhänger mit Amulettfunktion. In seinem Buch erhellt er diestilistische Entwicklung der Brakteaten und stuft sie chronologisch ein. Axboe diskutiert außerdem die Goldhorte des 6.
